With the help of Surfers Against Sewage who host the national Plastic Free Communities project, we began working towards the targets set for ‘Plastic Free’ status.

The status doesn’t mean that you wont see any plastic in the city.  However it does mean that we can identify and work with individuals, businesses, schools and the local authority to eliminate as many single use plastic items as possible.

Working with the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership we achieved Plastic Free Waterfront status in June 2018 just in time for the launch of the city’s Plastic Free Plan.

We then expanded the campaign and achieved Plastic Free Plymouth in 2019.

In  total over 400 pledges to reduce plastic use were made and the campaign is still live !

If you’d like to know more, or you can think of three single use plastic items that you’ve eliminated as well as three actions you could take to reduce plastic waste even further, then please get in touch for further details and a pledge form.
